“A Road More Frequently Traveled”
Just last week, Moovit and Gett made the bold yet strategic decision to cooperate with one another on a navigational tool. Moovit is an Israeli company that functions as a navigational app for a variety of public transportation services. Gett, formerly known as GetTaxi serves as a taxi-ordering application.
The collaboration will allow for users of Moovit’s app to compare and estimate the length of travel for a particular trip. They will be able to decipher whether or not taking public transoportation or private taxis is a wise or perhaps less smart move in terms of trip duration.
As stated in Globes Israel, this type of collaboration is present in Google Maps in the US. American users of Google Maps can decide between taking an uber or settling for public transportation; Google Maps provides the price points for the type of transportation a user decides upon, however, the Moovit Gett collaboration is not yet capable of offering price points.
At the moment, this new inapp function will only be available to Android users in Israel. An IOS version should be available within the next few weeks.
