Drip irrigation project to take place on California rice farm, with help from Israel

Netafim USA, subsidiary of one of the most prominent Israeli agriculture companies, Netafim, will partner with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev’s Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research to provide drip irrigation to a rice farm in California. The goal of the partnership is to drastically reduce the amount of water used to grow rice, a measure aimed at alleviating some of the pressure farmers face since the drought began several years ago. Conway Ranch in Woodland, California will be the testing ground and hopes to lead the charge to larger scale adoption across the United States farming community.
