Congress Passes E-2 Visa Bill, Increasing Investment Opportunities for Israelis
The US Senate unanimously approved a bill allowing Israeli nationals to apply for an E-2 investor visa to the US. This type of visa permits foreign investors to temporarily live and work in close proximity to their investments in the US with their families. Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Oren said that the bill “will stimulate mutual economic growth and increase investment opportunities.” Bilateral trade between the US and Israel hit $36.9 billion in 2011 and Israel is among the US’s 10 largest export markets per capita.
